With more than 34 years of experience as a social worker and Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, I have dedicated my career to helping individuals and families overcome life’s challenges. For 29 years, I served as a school social worker, partnering with students, parents, and educators to identify barriers to academic, emotional, and social success.
My clinical experience includes working with children and adolescents ages 8–18 who are navigating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, and the effects of trauma. I also enjoy working with adults of all ages as they face life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, grief, and other personal struggles.
I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership built on trust, compassion, and respect. My approach is client-centered and strength-based, focusing on each individual’s unique goals while fostering resilience, healthy boundaries, and lasting personal growth. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you begin or continue your journey toward healing and well-being.

I’m Dr. Maya Pignatore, a Clinical Psychologist specializing in Geropsychology. My passion is helping individuals through the difficult periods of their lives, wading through the muck, to get to the unexplored adventures that lay ahead. For more than a decade I have focused on work with older individuals navigating the challenges of retirement, serious medical problems, chronic pain and dementia. I also have experience working with clients who have problems with hoarding, chronic depression and anxiety.
I believe that the caregivers of individuals with dementia and other life-altering health problems are badly undersupported in our society, and I enjoy working with them to get them the help they need. I am also strongly devoted to the LGBTQ+ community, and working with individuals going through the gender transition process.
I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Caregiver Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy. I also love engaging in the vigorous work of cognitive assessments, helping people understand the changes they are experiencing with aging.
Whatever challenges you are experiencing, I look forward to walking with you on your journey.
